A Seaside Adventure for Woodlands Care Centre Residents

One of the best-loved summer traditions is a day at the beach, complete with the unpredictably delightful British weather and, of course, a 99-flake ice cream. Residents at Woodlands Care Centre, Cambridge, embraced this tradition with a visit to Hunstanton on August 27th, catching what might have been one of last sunny days of the summer.

This wasn’t the first time the residents and staff had visited the coast, as Hunstanton remains a firm favourite for its accessible walkways and beautiful sea views. Lifestyle Lead Sarah, who organised the trip, shared, “It was such a fun day out! There was a real ‘summer holiday’ vibe as we boarded the minibus, singing along to our favourite tunes. Hunstanton is perfect for us because we can park close to the seafront and enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade.”

The group delighted in a seaside classic—fish and chips—before heading to the beach for ice cream. As Sarah chuckled, “The wind made our ice creams melt faster, and there were a lot of laughs as everyone tried to keep up!”

The sound of waves crashing, children laughing, and seagulls calling brought back fond memories for many residents. Sitting along the promenade, they enjoyed watching the world go by and soaking in the familiar sights and sounds of a British seaside holiday.

For the residents of Woodlands Care Centre, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and a few runaway ice cream scoops—proving that there’s nothing like a trip to the beach to lift the spirits.
