As temperatures drop and energy costs rise, Brentwood Care Centre in Brentwood Essex is offering a much-needed lifeline to the local community with its weekly Winter Warmer initiative. Every Tuesday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, the centre opens its doors to those in need of a warm and welcoming space to beat the chill.
The Winter Warmer offers a comforting selection of hot meals, including steaming bowls of porridge, hearty mugs of soup, and indulgent hot chocolates—perfect for the cold weather. It’s not just about the food, though. Brentwood Care Centre’s friendly team is on hand to offer a warm welcome, and visitors are invited to stay for a cosy chat or take their meal to go.
Rhiannon McNeill, Customer Relations Manager, shared her enthusiasm for the initiative: “As we face a difficult winter, we wanted to provide a space for the community to come together, enjoy good food, and find some comfort in these challenging times. It’s all about offering warmth, not just in the food, but in the atmosphere too. We want everyone to feel welcome and supported.”
The Winter Warmer is an opportunity to bring together people in the local area and provide a little respite from the cold, while fostering a sense of community and connection.
Jacqui Shuttleworth, General Manager at Brentwood Care Centre, added: “This initiative is one of the many ways we strive to give back to our community. It’s heart-warming to see the impact it’s already having, bringing smiles and conversation to those who might otherwise feel isolated.
