Queens Court Spreads Holiday Cheer with a Festive Christmas Bonanza

Last week, Queens Court Care Home in Buckhurst Hill brought the magic of Christmas to life with its much-loved Christmas Bonanza. Residents, loved ones, and families gathered to enjoy a day full of festive fun, laughter, and togetherness.

The event began with a charming surprise as Lifestyle Lead Liza Street, dressed as a cheerful elf, joined forces with another elf Thomas, who is a resident at the home to welcome guests. Adding to the festive excitement, Dennis another resident, stole the show as Father Christmas himself, spreading joy and holiday cheer.

The celebration kicked off with a rousing performance by the local Community Choir, who sang a selection of Christmas carol favourites, including “Little Donkey.” The highlight came when the choir’s rendition of the song was greeted by a miniature America Pony, called Jayden and Lulu the baby Lamb, delighting everyone in attendance and adding a touch of magic to the day.

Liza Street, Lifestyle Lead, shared her thoughts:
“Seeing the smiles and laughter from everyone made all the planning so worthwhile. Our residents were at the heart of the festivities, and the real-life animals were a wonderful surprise that brought the carols to life.”

The Queens Court culinary team elevated the festivities with an array of seasonal treats, including mulled wine, mince pies, hot chocolate, and more. The aroma of festive flavours filled the air, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Daniela Caprioara, General Manager at Queens Court, praised the team and the event’s success:
“Our Christmas Bonanza is a highlight of the year, and this one was extra special. It’s a testament to the creativity and dedication of our Lifestyle and culinary teams, as well as the joy that our residents and families bring to our home. This event truly showcased the spirit of Christmas.”
