There was a very special celebration at Withens Nursing Home in Southfleet on the 12th July, as resident Marjorie marked her milestone 100th birthday surrounded by friends, family, and the Withens team.
Marjorie, who has been a much-loved resident at the home for nearly two years, was joined by loved ones who travelled from across the country to help her celebrate
the occasion. The team at Withens Nursing Home organised a birthday party complete with a delicious buffet, drinks, and live music – all thoughtfully planned to reflect Marjorie’s wishes for a “charming and intimate” afternoon.
Her daughter Vicky shared her gratitude, saying:
“We’re so grateful we could celebrate Mum’s 100th in such a lovely way. Thank you to the whole team for making it so special and exactly what she wanted – charming and intimate. She was quite overwhelmed by the day but had a truly lovely time.”
The Withens team made sure Marjorie felt like royalty for the day, with her favourite songs playing in the background, a lovingly decorated lounge, and plenty of smiles all round.
Gurpreet, General Manager at Withens Nursing Home, said:
“Reaching 100 is such an incredible milestone, and it was an honour to celebrate Marjorie’s big day. It was wonderful to see her surrounded by her family and enjoying every moment. Our team worked hard to make it personal and meaningful – we’re so proud to have been part of such a memorable day.”Nadia, Lifestyle Lead at the home, added:
“Marjorie is such a lovely lady, and it was so important to us that the celebration reflected who she is. We kept it relaxed and full of her favourite things, and seeing her smile made all the effort worthwhile.”
From the heartfelt speeches to the final slice of birthday cake, it was a day filled with laughter, love, and treasured memories – a fitting tribute to a remarkable woman and a century of life well lived.
