Brentwood Care Centre Rolls Up Sleeves for Charity Car Wash in Support of SNAP

Brentwood Care Centre recently swapped care uniforms for buckets and sponges as the team came together to host a community car wash in aid of SNAP (Special Needs And Parents), a local charity that supports families with children and young people who have additional needs or disabilities.

The idea behind the event was simple but effective, “offer car washes in exchange for donations”, with every penny going towards the invaluable work SNAP carries out. The day brought together not only the Brentwood Care Centre team, but also friends of the home, for a lively and hands on fundraiser that combined fun, teamwork, and community spirit.

It truly was a team effort. Care team members Franca, Peace, Charlotte (with a little extra help from her daughter), and Jennifer rolled up their sleeves alongside Home Manager Maria and Deputy Manager Ana-Lisa, who led from the front. Customer Relations Manager Rhiannon coordinated the event, Administrator Catriona kept logistics running smoothly, Head of Housekeeping Nesta ensured everything was in order, and Gardener Paul brought his trademark energy to setting up and running the wash bays.

A special highlight of the day was the return of David, a former resident who wanted to be part of the event. David explained:
“Getting involved in the car wash was something I really wanted to take part in, I really enjoyed my day. It reminded me of the kind of things I used to do at home. It felt great to be part of something.”

Maria, the home’s General Manager, added: “It was fantastic to see the whole team come together for such a meaningful cause. Supporting SNAP not only raised awareness but also brought everyone closer; staff, residents, and   families.”

Rhiannon, Customer Relations Manager, said: “The event was a wonderful way to connect with the wider community. It was especially inspiring to see David taking part, it showed how activities like this can really support someone’s journey toward independence. To raise £225.14 was a really great achievement and we really appreciate the generosity of the people around us.”

The day’s total of £225.14 will go directly to SNAP to support their ongoing work, making a difference to the lives of local families while leaving plenty of sparkling cars in its wake.
