Woodlands Care Centre in Cambridge is celebrating after achieving an overall ‘Good’ classification in its latest PAMMS (Provider Assessment and Market Management Solutions) inspection, reflecting the team’s ongoing commitment to safe, person-centred and compassionate care.
The independent assessment praised the home across a range of areas, including personalised care planning, safeguarding, staff training, and quality monitoring.
Inspectors noted that care and support plans are tailored to each individual’s unique needs and identity, including detailed information on preferences, life history and meaningful experiences. Family involvement was also highlighted as a strength, with inspectors remarking on “comprehensive documentation of significant life events, key relationships and meaningful experiences”.
The report recognised Woodlands’ commitment to dignity and respect, with 79% of residents and relatives surveyed confirming they felt treated with kindness, compassion and empathy. Regular resident and relative meetings, coffee afternoons, and the popular ‘You Said, We Did’ board were highlighted as positive examples of feedback being acted upon.
Safety and wellbeing were also central to the findings. The home demonstrated robust infection prevention measures, with posters, hygiene stations and clear policies observed throughout the building.
