A Royal Message Marks Eileen’s 100th Birthday at Park View Care Centre

There were smiles, cake and special royal recognition at Park View Care Centre in Ashford, as resident Eileen celebrated her remarkable 100th birthday.

Eileen marked the milestone with a small party at the home, surrounded by close friends and family. The celebration featured a beautifully decorated birthday cake created especially for her by the home’s Chef, providing a fitting centrepiece for the occasion.

Adding to the significance of the day, Eileen also received a congratulatory message from King Charles and Queen Camilla in honour of her centenary year.

Born in 1925, Eileen trained as a nursery nurse and went on to work in Tonbridge Wells, dedicating her career to supporting and caring for young children. Outside of her professional life, she gave many years of service to her local church, where she was responsible for arranging the flowers — a role she carried out with pride and commitment.

Eileen is a proud mother to two daughters and grandmother to two grandchildren. Known affectionately by her family as “Lolo” — a nickname earned from her cheerful habit of answering the phone with “Hello, hello!” — she continues to be at the heart of family life.

Natasha, Lifestyle Lead at the home, added: “Eileen’s celebration was a lovely afternoon. Having her friends and family here made it truly special, and the Chef did a fantastic job with her birthday cake. Moments like these are so important — it’s about bringing everyone together and marking such an achievement in a way that reflects the person.”

The team at Park View Care Centre were delighted to help Eileen celebrate her century, creating a memorable day to mark an extraordinary milestone.

Darren Humby, General Manager at Park View Care Centre, said: “Reaching 100 years is an incredible milestone and it was a privilege to celebrate such a special occasion with Eileen and her family. She has lived a life full of dedication to others, both through her career and her community involvement. It was important that the day felt personal and meaningful, and it was wonderful to see her surrounded by those closest to her.”
