Local Charity Champions Named Withens Nursing Home’s Southfleet Superheroes for July

Withens Nursing Home is celebrating three remarkable members of the local community after naming Dave, Cheryl and George Taylor as its Southfleet Superheroes for July in recognition ofRCH | Withens Hero June their outstanding dedication to supporting charitable causes.

The trio were nominated by Abi from Timpson’s in Gravesend, who praised their selfless commitment to fundraising and volunteering, particularly through their many years of support for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The monthly Southfleet Superheroes initiative, created by Withens Nursing Home, shines a spotlight on individuals, groups and organisations who go above and beyond to make a positive difference within the local community.

In her nomination, Abi said: “There’s nothing better to describe these people than brilliant. For many years, the Taylors have dedicated countless hours to the Poppy Appeal, always putting the charity and the people it supports first. Even during difficult times in their own lives, they have remained committed to raising funds, ensuring the smooth running of events such as Dover and Fort, and making sure the unheard voices are heard. Their selflessness, compassion and unwavering dedication have made a lasting impression on everyone they help. This is why I nominated Dave, Cheryl and George Taylor – to truly show how much they mean to so many people.”

The Taylor family were presented with their Southfleet Superheroes recognition at Withens Nursing Home, where residents and colleagues were delighted to celebrate their remarkable contribution to the local community.

The Southfleet Superheroes initiative forms part of Withens Nursing Home’s wider commitment to strengthening community connections and celebrating local people whose kindness, generosity and dedication often go unrecognised.

Each month, members of the public are invited to nominate someone who has made a positive impact in Southfleet, Gravesend or the surrounding area, ensuring that the everyday heroes within the community receive the recognition they deserve.
