Manton Heights Lifestyle Lead, Successfully Completes Her D.O.V.E.S Training

We are pleased to share that Sian, our dedicated Lifestyle Lead at Manton Heights Care Centre, has successfully completed the D.O.V.E.S training programme. As the care centre continuously strives to deliver the highest quality of care to residents, it brings great pleasure to witness team members advancing their skills and deepening their knowledge in dementia care

The D.O.V.E.S programme, which stands for Development through Observation, Validation, Enrichment, and Sharing of Knowledge, is a great initiative designed to inform, educate, and empower our staff. It provides comprehensive insights into the needs of residents living with dementia, enabling our team to deliver personalised and effective care. This training focuses on a person-centred approach, recognising that dementia affects each individual differently and that customised care can make all the difference.

Sian’s journey in Adult Social Care began with completing her NVQ Level 3, followed by her role as a Senior Community Support Worker. In 2022, Sian joined Manton Heights ABI Unit as a Senior Rehabilitation Assistant before taking on her current role at Manton Heights Care Centre as Lifestyle Lead.

Sian has since then become an integral part of the team, passionately supporting both residents and her colleagues. She ensures that residents enjoy daily well-being activities and organises engaging outings, events, and community programmes that bring vibrancy and joy to the home.

Sian has been very enthusiastic about the programme and delighted with the overall outcome. She described it as ‘inspiring and enlightening’.

With the completion of her D.O.V.E.S training, Sian is now even more equipped to enhance resident engagement and tailor her approach to meet their individual needs, ultimately improving their daily lives. We are incredibly proud of Sian’s accomplishments and grateful for her unwavering commitment to making Manton Heights a wonderful place for residents.

Sian shared with us her about thoughts about the impact of the training-

“I work with an amazing team and I am grateful to have been given this opportunity to attend the training. The D.O.V.E.S course has been an intense course, but I have learnt so much over the last 5 months and couldn’t be more grateful for Tim and the rest of the amazing staff undertaking the course for supporting me as I was extremely nervous coming into a whole new role but now finishing this course and finally qualifying, I feel my confidence in the role has improved.”
