The team at Orchard House Care Home in Wisbech embraced the festive spirit and took on an exciting challenge: transforming their summer house into a spectacular grotto for Father Christmas in just one week. This mission, part of the home’s eagerly anticipated annual Christmas Fete, showcased the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of everyone involved.
Once the summer house had been emptied it was ready for the Lifestyle Team, led by Lifestyle Lead Miranda, to step in and weave their magic.
The team turned the summer house into a warm and cosy grotto that could rival Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. The festive makeover included:
- A plush carpet and a comfortable armchair fit for Father Christmas himself.
- A real Christmas tree adorned with lights and decorations.
- A charming brick fireplace to add an extra touch of festive cheer.
Lifestyle Lead Miranda reflected on the effort, saying, “I’m so incredibly proud of the team. Everyone worked tirelessly to bring the grotto to life, creating a little slice of Christmas magic for our residents, families, and visitors. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces made it all worthwhile.”
The grotto was an overwhelming success, delighting everyone at the Christmas Fete, and even earning praise from Father Christmas. Word has it he was so impressed; he plans to share ideas with his team at the North Pole!
