Orchard House Care Home, in Wisbech are celebrating their charity Sing-along Bingo bash , successfully raising £321 for local children’s hospice.
Fundraising isn’t exactly a walk in the park, but boy, does it feel amazing when you hit your target. Whether it’s for a charity, an individual, or your local community, it is a special activity that brings great fulfilment with every single penny, making a tangible difference in others’ lives.
Orchard House Care Home is all about supporting good causes, from raising a whopping £1432 for the Alzheimer’s Society to supporting Children in Need they’re making a real difference. Recently they’ve hosted several fundraising events for EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices), holding a sing-along raffle and Bingo event in April which amassed a total of £321 for the charity. 
Orchard’s Lifestyle Lead, Miranda shares the background of their fundraising efforts for the charity, “It all started when we were collecting Easter eggs and said it would be really nice to support a children’s charity. Through doing my life story work and getting to know the residents I learnt that one of our residents, Hilda Sparrow age 99, has family that have had to use the services of the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices otherwise known as EACH. We learnt quite a lot about what her family members experienced and our General Manager Sarah agreed that this was a charity we could support a lot. We have met the family members who have used the services and heard their stories.”
EACH provides free care and support to children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk. They offer tailored care wherever the families prefer and their services focus on meeting the needs of the entire family.
Orchard House remains steadfast in its support of EACH strategically raising money through its fun and engaging events and the charity deeply appreciates their ongoing dedication.
