Residents and team members at Orchard House Care Home
in Wisbech were delighted to support local fundraiser Jonathon as he completed his latest challenge in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Jonathon, a familiar and much-loved face at Orchard House, recently took on an incredible 26-mile marathon walk, raising funds for the RNLI, a charity he has passionately supported through a variety of fundraising activities. Over the years, Jonathon has become a regular visitor to the home, attending events with fundraising tombola stalls and, more recently, sharing his inspiring fundraising journey with residents during a presentation in the home’s refurbished cinema.
Miranda Robinson, Lifestyle Lead at Orchard House Care Home, added: “Our residents always enjoy spending time with Jonathon and hearing about his fundraising activities. His positivity is infectious, and supporting him during his marathon challenge was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. We are incredibly proud of what he has achieved.”
Wanting to show their support, residents and team members joined Jonathon during a special stop at Orchard House, where everyone came together for a fun walking circuit around the home and gardens. The visit provided residents with the opportunity to encourage Jonathon and celebrate the challenge he had undertaken.
Following the visit, members of the Orchard House team continued the journey alongside Jonathon around Wisbech, helping to raise awareness of both his fundraising efforts and the vital work carried out by the RNLI.
Sarah Watson, General Manager at Orchard House Care Home, said: “Jonathon’s enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to fundraising are truly inspiring. He has built wonderful relationships
with our residents through his visits to the home, and everyone was excited to support him during this challenge. It was fantastic to see residents and team members come together to cheer him on and celebrate his achievement.”
The event highlights Orchard House’s commitment to supporting local community initiatives and celebrating the achievements of individuals who make a positive difference to others.
