Park View Care Centre Embraces World Alzheimer’s Awareness Month with Special Events

As part of World Alzheimer’s Month this September, Park View Care Centre in Park Farm, Ashford, is hosting a series of events aimed at fostering awareness and understanding of dementia care. Known for compassionate nursing and dementia care services, the home is putting a spotlight on the needs of its residents and the wider Ashford community.

Dementia Open Day – A Hands-On Experience

On September 20th, Park View Care Centre will hold a Dementia Open Day in partnership with Training 2 Care. A key feature of the day will be the Virtual Tour Bus, an immersive, 360-degree experience designed to give participants a glimpse into the world of someone living with dementia. The Virtual Tour offers a unique opportunity for attendees to better understand the challenges faced by those living with dementia.

The Open Day is not just for those caring for loved ones with dementia; it is an educational opportunity for anyone in the local community who may encounter individuals living with dementia in their day-to-day life. With limited spaces available for the Virtual Tour Bus, attendees can choose from two time slots: 10am – 1pm or 1:30pm – 4:30pm. To book a place, please call us on 01233 527 518.

In addition to the tour, guests will have the chance to meet Park View’s dedicated team, tour the facilities, and learn more about the specialised nursing and dementia services on offer.

Monthly Dementia Café

Following the success of its regular meet-ups, Park View will also be hosting its Dementia Café on September 24th. These informal gatherings provide a relaxed environment where families, carers, and members of the community can come together to share experiences and offer support. From 2pm – 4pm, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with a dementia specialist and Park View’s very own D.O.V.E.S specialists, Val and Gina, who have undergone comprehensive training to enhance the care provided to residents.

Compassionate Care and Support

At Park View Care Centre, compassionate, person-centred care is at the heart of everything they do. The home supports residents with complex nursing and dementia needs, offering a range of tailored services designed to enhance quality of life. With comfortable and well-equipped facilities, Park View aims to create a homely environment where residents feel safe and supported.

For those considering care options for a loved one, Park View currently has vacancies in both their nursing and dementia communities. To learn more about how they can support you, contact the team on 01233 527 518.

Join Park View this September as they raise awareness, offer support, and strengthen their community through meaningful dementia-focused events.
