Residents at Park View Care Centre have been busy becoming botanists, blenders and taste-testers as they came together to create their very own batch of bespoke Park View Gin.
As part of a new lifestyle experience at the home, residents gathered to explore a wide array of herbs, berries and fruit, carefully choosing the ingredients that would
form the base of their personalised gin. From the sharp zest of citrus to the earthy notes of juniper and rosemary, the group took great joy in discovering the different aromas and flavour combinations that worked best for their individual palates.
Once the experimenting was complete and the flavours perfected, the infusions were left to develop, giving time for the ingredients to blend together and mature into something truly special. At the end of the month, residents were finally able to enjoy the fruits of their labour during a relaxed and sociable afternoon of gin tasting.
There was plenty of pride and laughter as each participant sipped on their unique creation—some sweet and fruity, others herbal and bold—all united by the care and creativity that went into crafting each drop.
Darren Humby, General Manager at Park View, shared:
“This experience brought so much joy to everyone involved. It was a great way to spark conversation, reminiscence and creativity—something we always encourage here at Park View. The residents really embraced the process, and it wasbrilliant to see how proud they were of their final creations. Who knows? We may have the next great artisan gin distillers right here in Ashford!”
The gin-making activity is just one of many engaging and meaningful lifestyle experiences Park View offers to support resident wellbeing, creativity and connection.
