Seaside Fun for Woodlands Care Centre Residents

Residents from Woodlands Care Centre in Cambridge enjoyed a classic summer outing to Hunstanton Beach on Tuesday 26th August, where fish and chips, ice cream and sea views made for a day to remember.

The two-hour journey was filled with singing as residents sang together on the coach, creating a lively start to the trip. On arrival at Hunstanton, the group headed straight to a local restaurant where they were treated to freshly cooked fish and chips served in traditional boxes. The simple seaside favourite was a hit, with smiles and laughter all around the table.

After lunch, residents enjoyed a stroll along the busy promenade, where they stopped for ice creams – the chocolate and vanilla twist proving especially popular.

With the tide out, the sea stretched for miles and provided the perfect backdrop for a little seaside photo shoot, with residents Denise and Dorothy eager to capture the moment.

Passers-by stopped to chat and join in the cheerful atmosphere, before the group explored some of the shops and headed back to the coach. The return journey was just as joyful, with songs filling the bus until tired but happy residents began to drift off to sleep.

Sarah, Lifestyle Lead at Woodlands Care Centre, said:
“It was a fantastic day out and everything came together perfectly – from the fish and chips to the sea air and ice cream on the prom. The residents had such a great time, and it was lovely to see the joy on their faces throughout the day. Trips like this are what memories are made of.”
