Withens Nursing Home in Southfleet was bursting with summer spirit, as residents, families, friends, and staff came together to enjoy a spectacular Summer Garden
Party – a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and cherished memories.
Guests were treated to a lively and welcoming atmosphere, complete with a sizzling BBQ, children’s games, music, and an exciting raffle. But the true highlight of the day was the interactive petting zoo from Ark Farm Encounters. From the cheeky goat to the tiniest chick, residents and guests alike loved getting up close to the friendly animals. Fern, the farm’s knowledgeable and engaging handler, helped make the experience extra special.
Those who attended the party shared how much they enjoyed the party; Valerie Williams, “I’m so happy I came to a fun day with Mum and family.”
And fellow guest Nicola Wood added, “Well done to you all. It was a lovely event.”
The event was a reflection of the community spirit that Withens is proud to nurture. There were smiles all around as residents, their families and friends spent time together in the beautifully decorated garden, soaking up the sun and the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

“The petting zoo was a huge success – everyone was talking about it! It was so lovely to watch residents engaging with the animals and enjoying time with their families. We’re already planning the next event!”
