Woodlands Care Centre in Cambridge came alive with colour, music and community spirit on Saturday 14th June as residents, families, and team members came
together for a vibrant Summer Fayre – made even more special by its timing alongside the local Arbury Carnival.
Earlier in the day, the home’s General Manager Rubina, Deputy Manager Irina, Head Housekeeper Melainie and Receptionist Anjana proudly joined the carnival procession with a few of the home’s residents. Waving flags and soaking in the atmosphere, residents thoroughly enjoyed being part of this much-loved local event.
Back at the home, the Summer Fayre officially began at 2pm and welcomed an incredible turnout of residents, family members, and friends. The day was packed with stalls and activities, with the Tombola, Raffle, and BBQ proving particular favourites among guests. From delicious food to exciting prizes, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
“We were overwhelmed by the support from our families and local community,” said Rubina, General Manager at Woodlands. “It was a truly wonderful day – the joy on our residents’ faces said it all. I’m so proud of our entire team for pulling off such a successful event.”
A stunning balloon arch handcrafted by Melainie became the centrepiece of the garden, adding a splash of celebration to the event. In true birthday spirit, a 6ft cardboard cut-out of King Charles also made an appearance, drawing smiles and plenty of photo opportunities!
Sarah, the home’s Lifestyle Lead, added: “The whole team went above and beyond to make the day special. It took months of preparation, and I can’t thank everyone enough – from our lifestyle team for their organisation and creativity, to the other
departments who supported us along the way.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to the lifestyle team for their dedication, hard work and attention to detail – and to all the families who generously supported the event, helping create memories that residents will cherish.
With the success of this year’s Summer Fayre still fresh in everyone’s minds, thoughts are already turning to how next year’s celebration might be even bigger and better!
