This December, Manton Heights Care Centre in Bedford has embraced the festive spirit by raising funds for a cause close to the home’s heart—Tibbs Dementia Foundation. With a strong history of collaboration between the care home and this invaluable local charity, the partnership continues to thrive, offering mutual support through shared events and activities.
Tibbs Dementia Foundation, a Bedford-based registered charity, provides accessible and flexible groups aimed at enhancing the lives of people living with dementia, diagnosed or undiagnosed, and their caregivers. The charity’s wide range of activities fosters cognitive and physical stimulation in safe and supportive spaces, making a significant impact on the community.
The fundraising initiative was spearheaded by Manton Heights’ dedicated Lifestyle Team. Lifestyle Lead Sian shared, “Tibbs Dementia Foundation is such an important part of our community. They’ve supported our events over the years, and we wanted to give back to them for all the amazing work they do.”
Festive Fun and Generosity
The first fundraiser of the season was a festive extravaganza, featuring Christmas carols, games, cos
y jumpers, mince pies, mulled wine, and a highly anticipated raffle. Attendees purchased tickets, with all proceeds going toward the foundation. Sian added, “Melissa raised an incredible £110 in just two hours selling raffle tickets! The whole team came together to make the event a success, and we’re especially grateful to Sally and the culinary team for their amazing support.”
Creative Collaboration for a Cause
The fundraising efforts didn’t stop there. Manton Heights teamed up with Busy Bee’s Nursery, a local neighbour, to create a 2025 calendar. Children and residents joined forces, unleashing their creativity to design a heart-warming calendar that reflects the intergenerational bond between the two communities.
The calendar is now available for purchase at Manton Heights, with proceeds benefiting both Tibbs Dementia Foundation and the care home’s activity fund.

Kirsten Brooks, General Manager of Manton Heights, expressed her pride in the team’s efforts, saying, “Supporting Tibbs Dementia Foundation is not just about raising money—it’s about strengthening our community connections and making a positive impact on the lives of those living with dementia. I’m incredibly proud of our team for their creativity, hard work, and commitment to this wonderful cause.”
