Queens Court Celebrates Local Champion Liza Street—Finalist for Buckhurst Hill Citizen of the Year
Queens Court Care Home is proud to celebrate another remarkable milestone for their much-loved Lifestyle Lead, Liza Street, who was
recently named a finalist and runner up in the Buckhurst Hill Parish Council’s Citizen of the Year Awards.
A passionate advocate for intergenerational connection and community engagement, Liza has become a well-known and admired figure in the Buckhurst Hill and surrounding areas. This latest recognition reflects her long-standing dedication to making a difference—not just within the home, but throughout the wider community.
Liza joined Queens Court in 2017 after a 25-year career in the legal sector, seeking to make a meaningful impact closer to home. What began as a career change quickly became a calling. Since then, she has transformed the home’s lifestyle programme with her creativity, compassion, and commitment to bringing joy to every day.
Over the years, Liza has launched a range of innovative projects—from weekly visits with children at Queens Nursery to holiday collaborations with local schools, scout groups, and Duke of Edinburgh students. Her recent commendation at the Essex Care Sector Awards; The Prospers for Intergenerational Engagement, highlighted the value of these initiatives and the joy they bring to both residents and younger generations.
This isn’t the first time Liza’s hard work has been celebrated. She was the proud recipient of the Pride of Essex Unsung Hero Award in 2020 and has also been a finalist at the Great British Care Regional Awards. Her efforts to unite generations, support wellbeing, and build bridges between Queens Court and the wider community are truly extraordinary.
Speaking about her nomination, Liza said: “To be named a finalist and runner up in the Buckhurst Hill Citizen of the Year Awards is such an honour. I love what I do and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to bring people together and create moments that matter.”
General Manager Daniela Caprioara added: “Liza’s passion, energy, and imagination continue to inspire us all. She puts her heart into everything she does, and her impact on both the home and our community cannot be overstated. We’re incredibly proud to see her achievements recognised once again.”
Everyone at Queens Court and across RCH Care Homes congratulates Liza on this well-deserved honour and looks forward to supporting her next incredible initiative.
