Woodlands Care Centre in Cambridge recently enjoyed a festive outing to Scotsdales Garden Centre, soaking up the sights, sounds and sparkle of the Christmas
season.
The visit offered residents the chance to explore beautifully decorated Christmas displays, browse rows of vibrant trees and enjoy the lively atmosphere that Scotsdales is well known for at this time of year. From twinkling lights to eye-catching decorations, there was plenty to admire throughout the centre.
Lifestyle Lead Sarah, who organised the trip, said the outing was a fantastic way to bring the festive season to life for residents. “We had a tree-mendous time at Scotsdales on Wednesday,” she said. “The Christmas trees were so fabulous, even Charlie Brown would have been impressed — no sad trees here! It was lovely to see everyone chatting, laughing and choosing their favourites as we wandered around.”
Outings like this form an important part of the lifestyle programme at Woodlands, supporting social connection and meaningful experiences throughout the year.
Colin, General Manager at Woodlands Care Centre, highlighted the value of seasonal trips for residents’ wellbeing. “Moments like these make a real difference,” he said. “Getting out and about, especially somewhere as festive as Scotsdales, creates opportunities for conversation, shared memories and plenty of smiles. It was clear how much everyone enjoyed the experience.”
The festive visit is just one of many seasonal activities taking place at Woodlands Care Centre as Christmas approaches, with residents continuing to enjoy a varied programme of events designed to celebrate the season and bring people together.
