A talented resident at Brentwood Care Centre has been celebrating a festive achievement after his hand-drawn design was crowned the winner of the RCH Care
Homes annual Christmas Card Competition.
Ian’s winning artwork was selected from entries submitted by residents across the RCH Care Homes group, with judges praising the creativity, detail, and festive spirit captured in his design. The illustration has since been shared as part of the organisation’s official Christmas communications, making it a special moment of pride for Ian and the team at Brentwood Care Centre.
Ian, who enjoys creative activities and expressing himself through art, said he was delighted to hear his design had been chosen, adding that he enjoyed taking time to carefully draw each element of the festive scene. Ian’s card was professionally printed and sent out across all of the homes as our official Christmas card of 2025.
Rhiannon, Customer Relations Manager at Brentwood Care Centre, added: “The Christmas Card Competition is always a lovely opportunity for residents to get involved and showcase their talents. Ian’s card stood out straight away, and seeing how proud he feels of his achievement has been incredibly rewarding.”
The competition forms part of RCH Care Homes’ wider festive celebrations, encouraging creativity, connection, and meaningful activities during the Christmas season. For Ian, the experience has added an extra layer of joy to the festivities and created a lasting memory to cherish.
Maria, Home Manager at Brentwood Care Centre, said: “Ian’s win has brought a huge smile to everyone at the home. His creativity and enthusiasm really shone through in his design, and it has been wonderful to see his artwork recognised across the wider RCH Care Homes community. Moments like this highlight how important it is to support residents to continue doing the things they love.”
