Maidstone Care Centre has been starting the new year on a positive note, with residents enjoying a full and varied lifestyle programme designed to keep everyone
active, engaged and feeling good as the seasons begin to change.
Following the festive period, daily life at the home has continued at a lively pace. Residents have been taking part in regular armchair exercise sessions led by Lifestyle Lead Belinda alongside John Boyd, helping to support mobility and wellbeing in an inclusive and enjoyable way.
Creative activities such as arts and crafts, baking, reading groups and indoor gardening have also been popular, offering opportunities to socialise while exploring personal interests. Friendly competition has been encouraged through lively bingo games, while a newly launched knitting group has already brought together residents keen to share skills and conversation.
Wellbeing has remained a key focus, with many residents enjoying relaxing pampering sessions in the on-site salon. Hair appointments with Linda have been complemented by manicures and soothing hand and foot massages provided by Belinda and Jane from the Lifestyle Team. Daily sensory sessions in the Namaste room have also been supporting relaxation, helping residents to unwind in a calm and comforting environment.
Live entertainment has added to the atmosphere at the home, with recent performances proving a hit.
Looking ahead, residents are looking forward to a performance by Jon McDevitt on 2nd March, and a special animal visit from Naomi on 4th February.
Belinda, Lifestyle Lead at Maidstone Care Centre, said “It has been wonderful to see residents enjoying such a wide
range of activities, from gentle exercise and creative sessions to relaxation and live entertainment. The focus is always on choice, enjoyment and wellbeing, and it has been lovely to see everyone start the year feeling positive and engaged.”
