This national recognition highlights the dedication, compassion, and innovative teamwork that defines the Willowbrook team’s approach to palliative and end-of-life care.
Willowbrook Community is renowned for delivering comprehensive and person-centred dementia care in a safe, homely, and engaging environment. Supported by a highly skilled and compassionate team, the community integrates innovative technology and therapeutic practices to ensure that residents living with dementia receive holistic support—emotionally, physically, and spiritually—especially during the most sensitive stages of life.
From the use of immersive tools like Motitech bikes, Tovertafel tables, Immerse VR headsets, and the Digital Rainbow tablet, to the calming environment of the Namaste Care Therapy Room, every element of care is thoughtfully designed to help residents feel comforted, connected, and understood.
The team’s expertise is built on an impressive foundation of ongoing dementia-specific training. From the Dementia Training Company and masterclasses led by dementia expert Tim Forester-Morgan to RCH’s unique D.O.V.E.S programme, staff are equipped to deliver palliative care that is deeply empathetic and grounded in best practice. The interdisciplinary approach adopted by the team encourages close collaboration with families, healthcare professionals, hospices, and community providers.
