Residents and team members at Orchard House Care Home in Wisbech recently came together to celebrate the exciting launch
of a newly refurbished in-house cinema, officially opened by Wisbech Mayor, Cllr Janet Tanfield.
The special event marked a fantastic addition to life at the home, creating a dedicated space where residents can enjoy classic films, new releases, and shared movie experiences in comfort and style.
The celebration was made even more memorable thanks to the generous support of Julie Bushby, Community Champion at Tesco Extra Wisbech, who kindly provided a selection of traditional cinema treats. Guests enjoyed popcorn, sweets, and a touch of bubbly, helping to create an authentic and joyful cinema atmosphere.
Residents were delighted to welcome Cllr Janet Tanfield for the official opening, with many taking the opportunity to chat and share in the excitement of the new space. The cinema is set to become a hub for social connection, relaxation, and entertainment within the home.
Miranda, Lifestyle Lead at the home, added: “The cinema has already brought so much excitement. Film afternoons are a great way to spark memories, encourage conversation, and create meaningful moments together. Seeing residents enjoying the space with popcorn and treats made the launch truly special.”
